I passed. I loved the original. I see no point in a remake. Isn't the fun in this movie the discovery of the problem and solution? Unless teh new one is a different story it has no purpose. if it is a different story - why call it Andromeda Strain?Comment

Ehh the whole time travel, evil government , environmental spin didn't thrill me. Nice paradox bit at the end this the triangle symbol and index number on the storage satellite.

Hmmmm....
It was okay; but it looked like they'd expanded it to four hours just to cram in all the standard movie cliches. Evil military conspiracies, cocky young tough guy hero (Ricky Schroder of all people!) "honey, I love you....," last minute reprieve.....
Has anyone read the book? I'm wondering how close either movie was.
SPOILER ALERT:
WHY do people from the future INSIST on weird word puzzles, cryptic diagrams and the like? What's wrong with "HEY! Do this!"

So if the people from the future DIDN'T send Andromeda Back in time. It wouldn't been there to threaten the future. Ahh I love a good paradox. Then where did Andromeda come from in the first place.
Yeah one would have to wonder how they knew the US would send a biological searching probe into their wormhole and how they managed to hit it with a object the size of a paintball.
And given the lethality of the sample a simple . Hi we are from the future and we are screwed, we need your help to stop this..... would have seemed more prudentLo there do I see my Father.

Especially since sending it back could potentially end the world EARLIER! Unless they KNEW we could stop it, in which case it wouldn't have been a problem in the future....
"Bill and Ted's Bogus Journey" did it SOOOO much better....
