Do you remember a particluar scene from when you were a kid that blew you away? Does a particluar scene still give you the excitement chills when you see it? What is your favorite scene from the original movies?

Mine are from new hope.
The scrolling narrative - still gives me that feeling of anticipation.
The cliff scene overlooking Mos Eisley. - "Scum and Villiany"
The whole Cantina thing.
When you first see the death star - "thats no moon."

Has to be the hanger at MOS EISLEY with the stormtrooper rushing in yelling stop that ship and Han Solo starts blasting

That's a hard question to answer... There are so many great scenes. I'd have to say the scenes that take it back to its roots -- the Saturday Matinee Serials, where Heroes were good, villains were bad, and the women were easy to look at.

I disliked Carrie Fisher's Princess Leia. Until the rescue scene from the Liar of Jabba the Hutt...

The opening battle and Vaders appearence on the Tantive 5.

The Imperial walkers attacking the Rebel base on Hoth.

The final 3 way battle on Endor. Rebel fleet vs Emperial fleet, The battle on the Endor moon and the Battle between Luke, Vader and the Emperor.

The closing scene in Empire Strikes Back when they're looking out the window.
That scene, along with the past events and music REALLY makes you GOT to see the "next movie"

Luke looking up at the sky at the two moons in New Hope.
The Star Wars theme is glorious in that scene.
It's a perfect scene.

Seems to be the most iconic of the whole series---
wasn't sure if you saw the last film---REVENGE OF THE SITH
---but the last scene in it is an homage to that original scene---music and all.

1st time i saw vader on screen was one terrifying moment for me as a 5 year old, i cried and wimpered most of my way through a new hope... 5 year old these days smoke, drink and deal drugs

memorable moments as a kid are when r2 gets his head blown off in a battle scene in the back of lukes x-wing, i was gutted then jubilant when i saw him repaired and brand new again. i always thought about that for years on

empire.
luke crashing his snow speeder into the snow and jumpiung out of the way of an at-ats foot... i reinacted that scene as a kid with my toys for years lol

jedi.
when the ewoks cut ropes and 2 logs come hurtling and smashing either side of the at-st chicken walkers head... boom, loved that bit

makes me wanna put jedi on now

One of my "tops" HAS to be the "Luke Recovery Hoth Infirmirary" scene in EMPIRE-
--the competition between Luke and Han for Leia's affections is great--
-"Laugh it up fuzzball" is still a great line to go back to

I'm also a big Bossk/IG-88/Dengar fan---so their scene is great as well---I'm
surprised more people haven't mentioned that scene as it was the introduction
to BOBA FETT (on the big screen anyway)

Ah---toys2cool---my signature line---good catch---so good that I'll
threadjack for a moment here

I was watching the MALLRATS scene on YouTube that had the CHALLENGE
OF THE SUPERFRIENDS characters delivering the MALLRATS lines and I
thought SINESTRO delivering that line was so interestingly funny that I used
it as my sig here --figuring that somebody would catch on sooner than you
have. It's been my sig for many months now.

Again---great catch toys.

The opening battle and Vaders appearence on the Tantive 5.

The name of the ship is the Tantive IV, aka the Rebel Blockade Runner.

Those are suns.
That's the Force theme.
I agree.

I wouldn't say that the following were my favorite moments from the movies, but when I look back I remember being in the theatre and thinking. Wow! They can't do that!

IV - Vader strikes down Kenobi
V - C-3PO sees something and then gets blown apart
Han encrusted and then not saved before the movie is over!!!!
Luke faces Vader and loses his hand
VI - Yoda dies - no cool face off with Vader (like I'd been hoping for from 1980 to 83) ;)
Luke is Leia's brother (really didn't think that was coming and I was on an information blackout before the "last" movie came out)

My favorite scenes are probably the shootout in the Death Star prison block in the original film, the duel on the bridge between Luke and Vader in ESB, and the speeder bike chase in ROTJ.

Ah man...that suit she was wearing with no undies on....at 11 that was when I got my first real stirrings...lol. I always prefered her in that white dress at the ceremony
...especially when she bends over to slip the medal on.
Apparently she had to wear tape over her nipples for all the scenes in that white hoody dress....and she (Carrie) held a raffle with the winner helping her take the tape off....she'd set it up so that Harrison would win as they were having a fling at the time...

The audible Rumble of Vader using the Force in the Death Star conference room...astounding use of sound to enhance the images.
Reminded me of the feeling you get watching high powered military jets taking off....or the bass being played very loud at a gig.

Hmmmm....

The Death Star trench. That whole fight felt... real. Moreso than more "realistic" movies. It's one of the few times I've ever seen a radio check before combat, and crew adjusting and confirming their instruments.... all things you'd do before a real life battle.

The AT-Ats are a close second.

The Cantina scene is the single greatest moment in movies IMHO, tons of freaky aliens listening to some ragtime space-jazz. Jabbas Palace is a close second, I always loved when Jabba eats the big frog like creature. Compactor scene is great and very suspensefully when your 4 years old, wondering where that monster was going to pop up next.

Mos Eisley catinna when Ben Kenobi chops Walrus Mans arm off (he might look old but handy with a sabre :smiley1:)

Got to be the AT-AT walkers attack on the Rebel base.

Millenium Falcon and Wedge fly into the Deathstar to destroy the reactor (some mad tight flying there)

As a kid, I really dug it when Luke came into Jaba's palace all bad-arse. That whole rescue scene is great. And yes Boba Fett gets his punk-rear handed to him and then screams like a girl. That's a case where a cult following developed around a costume, not a character.

As an adult, I like a much more subtle scene best. I know it gets mentioned a lot, but the scene in Empire when Han is about to be frozen in carbonite, and Leia says "I love you", and Han responds, "I know". Apparently, Harrison Ford just made that up on the spot. Man, he's a great ad-libber. That and the scene in Raiders where he shoots the Cairo swordsman (also ad-libbed) are two of my favorite movie moments.

The costume (and lack of extensive dialogue) WAS the character--and that's what
made him so intriguing ala The Man With No Name.

Those kinds of lines are not often written...but spring up in shooting when
everyone realizes---jeez the line that is actually written is a lame line.

"I love you too" ???? Geez. :)

It took all of 30 seconds to be hooked on star wars in 1977 as the star destroyer passed overhead in the opening scene.

I was lost forever in the story when luke was looking yearningly out on the dual sunset.

ANH: First appearance of Porkins. Cause it shows there are fat people in space.

ESB: C3PO getting shanghai'd in Bespin. I mean, what a dumbass.

ROTJ: The Ewok playing the drums, which you have you wonder, are those just empty helmets, or are there HEADS in the helmets. If the later, then those 'woks have my respect.

Yeah everyone forgets these carniverous little buggers were going to eat our heros when they first met.

I always imagined the Helmet owners became part of the final parties BBQ.:terror:
