This is just for my own curiosity. I'm oretty sure all of the DM/Flatt heads are modified from original heads. Just wondering if anyone recognises the original heads. So far I'm thinking that;
Two-Face=Mr. Fantastic
Flash=Cheron
Green Lantern=Peter Parker/Captain Marvel(?)
Anyone recognize anymore? Ya gotta figure that Dr. Doom is a modified Iron Man and Professor Zoom is Conan(with that scowl and all), but if anyone can ID any of the rest I'd be curious to know who is whom.

As a coincidence, the Cheron head is actually a re-sculpt of Alan Verdon from the Planet of the Apes line. So what have we learned? Verdon would make a great alter-ego Flash/Barry Allen head. Now if only that were useful in any way whatsover...

Curious,.. I thought Dr. Strange was one of them too... where is that from,.. I never personally bought one, & it's got me thinking now. I have busted out a few heads that I have,.. & compaired them. Very Interesting. Nothing seems to be the same size however,.. so in the alter of the heads,.. somewhere's,.. some shrink job accured somewhere's imo.

I think there was probably alot of sanding and resculpting going on. The hair on GL/Hal is nothing like Shazam, but looking at the jawline, I think that's who it is

Wasn't the DM Dr. Strange head a shrink from the Mego Jordache "fashion" doll?

I think so. And that Head, Mego originally intended it to BE Dr.Strange.

And while a bald Thor would seem the obvious choice for Luthor, the face actually looks a little more like Pa Walton.

I remember reading somewhere that these heads were some of Flatt's early work and that he had re-done most of the characters. Somwhere along the line, the originals were passed on to DM for re-casting. Some of them may just be totally original sculpts, but I'm pretty sure that Flatt did alot of tinkering with existing heads before he started sculpting from scratch.
Here's the list (as complete as I can make it) with the discontinued stuff as well as the ones DM still sells.
Two Face
Flash
Reverse Flash Head (gritting teeth; different from Flash Head)
Green Lantern Hal Jordan
Flatt Man with a mustache - looks a little like Howard Hughes.
Commissioner Gordon(Same head as above, but with glasses molded on)
Dr. Fate Head
Dr. Doom Head
Dr. Octopus Head
Moon Knight Head
LL Mad Scientist bald head

I think Commissioner Gordon (Mature Man with Mustache) is a reworked Grandpa Walton head:

I'm pretty sure that head is a bald Thor.

Oh, yeah! That one is definitely Thor. I agree that Mature Mustached Man is likely Grandpa Walton. Good call

Dr. Strange is neither a Flatt head or a shrunken Jordache head. It's a reworked Robin Hood head. I think Green Lantern is Robin Hood as well.
The Mad scientist head is from a toy where you could stick your fingers thru the shirt of the doll and then put boxing gloves on your fingertips to represent his arms. I wish I could remember the name of the toy, I would find a picture.
I think the Flash is just Kid Flash with the top of the mask added.

I can't think of any heads that charlee sculpted from scratch, they were all heavily customized from other heads. He told me the green lantern originally started out as a waltons johnboy head.

I know Charlee did "Mego like" Flash and Green Lantern that were reworked from Verdon and Burke.

Speaking as someone who initially commissioned Charlee on several of Doc's heads:
Mr. F = Two-Face
Prof. Zoom & Mad Scientist (Luthor) are from 1,000,000 BC figs.
Green Lantern is a reworked Robin Hood.
Flash is a heavily-modified Lancelot.
Dr. Doom is a FC head with a modified Skeletor hood from a MOTU shampoo bottle.
Doc Ock is modified from the Toybiz projector figure.
Moon Knight is modified from the Toybiz Hobgoblin projector figure.
