Those figures are currently sold out on the website ( the website that shows all Mego wave 1 and 2 figures as " Not in stores " ). Brilliant.

The photograph wasn’t taken two days ago. It was likely taking during a photoshooot months ago. These figures were probably chosen because they were good looking Wave 2 examples. The ad clearly states “assortment varies by store.” Nothing nefarious is taking place.

Come on. You guys sound like your next biggest problem is that your moms basement is a bit mildewy.
