Has Anyone HeadSwapped With The New Mego Bodies?

I know this could be a touchy topic, since some folks cannot even find the new Mego figures yet.
But I'm wondering if anyone has done any headswapping with older Mego-like figures?
    What works and what doesn't?

Specifically, I am thinking of putting my Mattel Lex Luthor's head on a new 8" Mego body and switching the costume over.
I'm not sure if it will work, and I don't know if I want to sacrifice opening the new Mego figure and deconstructing him if it won't.
If they aren't compatible, I'd rather keep the figure intact, yknow?

The heads attach in totally different way on the new Mego figures

      Different in what way?
So it's impossible to swap anything with the new Mego?

The new figures have a hole in the bottom of their neck and there is a plug on the torso to pop the head onto. The old figures have a hole in the torso and a plug on the bottom of the neck. So you get two holes, or two plugs.

I haven't done one yet, but I will eventually and it won't be to hard. I own an electric X-Acto knife...I'll just cut the post off and then make the hole the size it needs to be with my X-Acto.

if I am not mistaken, the laser mego adapter is to put the new Mego heads on vintage bodies. I would imagine to do the reverse, you would need to cut the neck plug off and then put it onto the neck stem on the new bodies

Anyone know how the Mattel figures are made, or do I have to yank Lex's head off to find out?

I transferred a Mattel Luthor head onto a mego body, Mattel heads have neck plugs and there hard plastic not the soft
Mego vinyl heads. New mego as mentioned have the plug on the torso the head has the hole you snap on.

You won't be able to attach Mattel heads onto the new mego body, you would have to cut off the neck plug and take a chance it will fit on the new mego bodies, I'm guessing it won't but that's jmo

No, it will fit. Somebody's already done it. They just cut the post off with wire cutters...and then heated up the head of a screw and then just pushed it down to make the hole.

Ugh, this all sounds more complicated than I care to get into.
Maybe I'll just be on the lookout for a cheap vintage Mego at a flea market for my Lex.
Or keep him on the wobbly Mattel body.
In the meantime, I guess I'll just keep my new Action Jackson as is.
I wasn't really planning to get him as part of my collection, but now I guess I have one, LOL!
                          Bonus!

If I wanted to transfer a vintage style head to a mego 2.0 body..thought exercise it.
Cut the neck plug off including the indented trench above the plug. Wipe Vaseline in a thin layer around the neck post of the 2.0 body. Wash interior of of vintage style head thoroughly and allow to dry. Apply thick silicon shoe glue to neck post. Almost fill head interior with shoe glue. I used to use E6000 for projects like this. Apply head to neck post and stand the figure up. The glue will take a day to cure at least. Check every couple of hours for glue leakage and clean that up. In theory the Vaseline lining will keep the glue from adhering to the neck post. After the first day give the head a few gentle one quarter turns.

The vintage bodies are better, so why switch?
