I'm gonna go out on a limb here and say that there's some definite QC issues going on at Mego manufacturing. They may be rushing these things a little too much.

Not a reflection on New Mego on the whole, as the merchandise is top notch...but it's looking more and more like they need to tighten up QC at their factory a bit.
