    Interesting Timing

At the Meet, Marty said Mego used to try and launch figures to coincide with cartoons, shows etc...

With the new first wave, there was surprise at a number of choices. But since then:

    *Charmed reboot is in production

*Charlie's Angels reboot is in pre-production

*A Facts of Life reboot is in development

*Kelsey Grammar said there's cast interest in a Cheers reunion

*The Brady Bunch house went up for sale for the first time since 1973. It was bought by a studio, speculating CBS is going to reboot

*CBS announced multiple new Trek shows are coming

Subtract DC & Drac as evergreen properties, plus AJ as a Mego flagship

All that's left is Married, Jeanie and Jimi.

All this would explain some of the perhaps more "questionable" choices of characters. Some behind the scene things going on?

Hey Magnum PI is getting a reboot. Bring on the Tom Selleck and classic cast Megos!

For what it's worth, there's a new Jimi Hendrix album that was released recently.
Expectation is the death of discovery.

AJ would be a cool cartoon and he already has a theme song from his commercials.

I thought I saw a headline a few months ago.

Some, like the Brady house or Charlotte Rae passing, will be koinkydink. Others, like Charmed, were in the works for a months. I'm wondering if CBS suggested Facts and Charlie's as they were moving ahead.

It's like Full House. On one hand, it seems nuts. On the other, Netflix.

                Certainly could make sense.

Though to be fair, almost everything is in some stage of a reboot or remake at this point. Pretty much anything that was ever a viable property at some point (and some that really never were) have been getting second looks, because the industry as a whole believes it's easier to relaunch something than create something new.

Not to derail the thread, but thats one of the reasons I wish Mego had done Lost in Space. They could have done classic figures and modern ones. But I guess DST still has the property locked up.

Good points, but just a small correction, the Brady house was actually purchased by HGTV. I'm guessing they might use it for a TV show where they try to restore the interior of the house so it looks like the Brady house did on TV (while in reality, only the outside of the house was filmed for the actual show, the rest was studio sets).

HGTV, huh? The seller wouldn't say originally. Trades speculated it was CBS for a streaming reboot.
