My wife was working a a KFC when I was in the Air Force and I went in there a lot. Not just to get chicken, mainly to talk to her. Finally after ordering a 10 piece bucket I asked her out. On our first date (to Batman, the first one) she asked me what took me so long to ask her out. From our first date I knew I'd marry her. I was smitten. nineteen years later and I love my wife more and more.

We met at our Church Singles group. Knew each other as casual friends for a few years. Never knew she was interested until she asked me out.
11 weeks later I proposed.
2 kids have arrived and we just had our 9th anniversary.
She tollerates my toy and car hobbies and even helps out the cause on occasion!

21 years ago, I was a member of a youth club in NYC called The Door: A Center of Alternatives. I was in the club's music program.
I spotted a beautiful girl taking the tour for possible new members and introduced myself. I started riding the subway home with her to her home stop (about an hour out of my way).
We started dating within the week.
12 years later we got engaged.
On Valentines Day, 2000, we were married at the top of the World Trade Center.
She tolerates my toy obsession, and I love her more than life itsef:heart:

We met in Economics Class at City University of New York.
She was wearing a black ACDC t-shirt.
I asked her out half way through the semester.
Some 15 years later, we're married with a precious 6 year-old girl.

She came into the record store I worked at, and ordered some cd's that our store didn't carry (Supersuckers, Oblivians, reatards, Deadly Snakes, etc). Well, this is the kind of music that's right up my alley, so I added a note to her customer account stating that "ONLY I" can call this customer when thier order arrived. Sure enough several agonizing weeks later I got to call her up and do a little bit of shmoozing on the phone, the rest they say is history.

I placed a one-time free ad in a local singles paper in 1996. She was the only one that answered my ad, so I had to marry her . Next month is our ten year anniversary.

I met my husband through an online personals ad. You could post the ad for free, but you had to be a paying member to respond to ads or messages other members sent. I hid my email address in the text and used my favorite picture - I looked kind of gothy and was holding a "unicorn skull." He figured, "Well, there's someone quirky enough to put up with my comic, toy, and videogame habit." After a few emails, we exchanged numbers and met in person soon after. We dated for 5 or 6 years, and will celebrate our first wedding anniversary tomorrow.

She was the babysitter for my older children...
Actually I'd known her a long time as I used to party with her cousin and would see her in passing every now and then...

I was playing an episode of Battle of the Planets in my dorm room, this little french girl came in to watch. We became friends first as I had just gotten out of a horrible relationship and was on this whole single kick. Eventually I figured out I had this awesome person in my life who loved punk, old toys and crap movies, we've been together 16 years.
Now I'm facebook friends with that ex and kind of feel like I owe her one.

We worked together. We had a definite chemistry. Everybody at work thought we were a secret couple for a long time before we actually dated. She left our job so we could start dating and we were married about 2 years later.
In a bar (how cliche), on a Tuesday, after working finishing working at both my jobs at the time. She was in grad school full time and working part time, so she had a full day as well, but we had both recently finished college and still had that crazy energy where you can go from 7 am to 10 pm, and going out afterwards still seemed like a good idea. Her part time job and my second job were at the same mall, so we had some common friends. I sat at her table and her roommate gave me a dirty look, and she didn't seem too interested either. I turned around and started holding court at the next table, and was on some sort of comedy roll, with people laughing up a storm. She left her roommates table to hang out with the new guy. The rest is history.

Met my wife right out of HS. Went to spend 3 weeks with my cousin after High School , ended up moving in with my cousin for like 5 years because my wife lived right behind my cousin. So the summer of 87 was a blast, we have been together ever since!

He used to sit behind me in a general ed class in 1987. We met again by a chance encounter on campus, and he remembered my name and I remembered his. I gave him my number and he called the same night and asked me out to a BBQ. I went just for the heck of it and I fell in love that evening. He tolerates my Planet of the Apes obsession. How can I not fall in love with somebody who runs like Cornelius? We have been together for 20 years and have 3 boys: 9, 6 and 3 years old.

18 years ago I was working at Hampstead station that still had the old type lifts that had to be operated by a member of staff from the inside. She was the only passenger for that lifts trip which takes about a minute and a half to reach the top landing...I said hello and joked about the lift getting stuck. She worked in the stationers round the corner and I used to go in there for my drawing and art supplies and we got chatting ...3 weeks later we had a drink for someone who was leaving and after getting absolutely drunk went into the shop...slumped to the fllor and when she came over asked her out..she told me later she only agrred so I would leave the shop..lol.
We now have 3 kids Nyssa 16, Jake 13 and Lucas 7 and when they demolished the old lifts at Hampstead station I managed to get the ornate iron grill from the top of the lift where we first met.....we did use it as a headboard for the bed until one night it fell on my forehead.....lol

My wife and I worked in the same hospital. I worked in IT and she worked in registration.
We had a new IT project for registration, that went horribly awry. As a result my Boss had me sit in registration and babysit the printers that were malfunctioning.
So I had time to flirt and talk to the lady over the dept.... Needless to say 8 months later we were married, and in 2 weeks we celebrate our 10th anniversary.

Actually, I have known my wife since we were in grade school.
Whenever I tell the story, I feel like I should be sitting on the couch in "When Harry met Sally". She was a grade older than me and lived on the other side of town. We went to the same church and we constantly were running into each other but didn't really know her very well. In 5th grade, the schools in our area were experimenting with combination classes so they took about 5 5th graders and shoved them into a 6th grade class to see how they would do. I was one of the 5 5th graders and she happened to be in 6th. I had one of those grade school crushes but just kept it to myself.
We ended up going to the same Jr. High and High School and again, always had a bit of a crush on her but didn't really know her that well since she was a grade ahead of me.
Finally, we ended up working at the same catering company as teenagers. That's when I became completely smitten with her but she seemed disinterested so I never got the nerve up to ask her out but we became really good friends.
At the age of 19, I finally got up the nerve and invited her to a fraternity formal at my college....she said "yes". We have been together ever since. I once asked her why she didn't seem to reciprocate the early signs that I was interested in her and she said that she knew I was the one for her and it scared her since she had never dated anyone seriously. She said she had a feeling that we would marry some day but for whatever reason, everything had to come into alignment for it to happen....so it is one of those marrying the girl next door stories.
During a concert, she was still seeing someone else then, but that didn't last long after we met
And happy anniversary, Amy

Geometry class in 10th grade. I knew of her, my best friend had a crush on her the year before, but she started talking to me because I was then dating one of her old friends. Turns out the friend did to her what she would soon do to me; just totally dump us out of her lives. Best thing that ever happened to either of us (or at least me:biggrin:). I started making smart-alec comments to her and we began flirting despite her having a boyfriend. We became buds and began to hang out. I was a bit nervous when she came over to my house for the first time. She'd see my comics, and worse, my toys!!! She plopped down on the corner of my bed and started reading a comic. I knew then I would marry her. We began officially dating that summer. We've been together 17 years, and married for 12.

I met my girlfriend at work, two and a half years ago. I was smitten the moment I saw her, but had to wait a few months for her to get out of another relationship.
She moved in with me about six months ago.

My wife and I met while working at B Dalton Bookstore. I was shift Supervisor and she was hired by the Store Manager to manage the Children's book section for a part time job (at the time she taught ballet to young girls). Our first date was to go see the premiere of "Star Trek: Generations", which, by the way, was her choice. She can quote Tolkien from memory, likes James Bond and Pink Panther films, thinks the fact that I perform at Reniassance Faires is cool, and her favorite film is "The Princess Bride". Of course I married her.
Our 12th Anniversary was on January 6th.
