Herman Munster was the only one I really liked.
Hmmmm....
Dunno why; but I really like Maestro. He's got a good "arch-villain" thing going on.

I like the Space 1999 figures.
The second Mad Monster series
The Merry Men for me. Herman was probably their best original effort.

And this is why I still haven't purchased the Merry Men and Super Knights. Too many horror stories about broken figures.

The Munsters are by far the best... orginal, and for the most part good quality, nice execution IMHO. I give them mad props for the amount of stuff produced, if only they could have kept everything on that even keel...

Buy em loose, take the stuff off em and put it on an original mego body. T1's work real well. Then take the CTVT bodies and flip em on ebay. If you can buy the bodies in a decent sized lot, you'll be out around $10 or $11 each, dressed on an original body. Then just replace the ctvt stuff with original pieces as you can find it. That's what I did.

I got the blue hair frankenstein and the red hair dracula in a trade and both are still carded but I liked the frankenstein so much I got an original from a member here and I'm busy tracking his clothes down now.
It also got me wanting the rest of the original monsters so sometimes reproductions increase the demand for originals, plus I also want a remco frankie and a ctvt herman munster. anybody need a carded red hair dracula?

hmm the original reply posted twice.
at anyrate - i have several sets of Ctvt - figs i wouldn't have bought otherwise.
i have said it before and i'll say it again - even with minor quality issues these are a steal for filling in gaps in your collection or getting repro parts for completing vintage figures. and after buying at least 40 for figures or parts or gifts - I have only had about 5 or so that had broken parts - maybe that is too high a percentage for some but since I use some of them for parts, it really doesn't even matter to me.

Peter's already out. He's been off the site for weeks. I believe the Munsters are gone too.

Check eBay. CTVT has been listing tons of their figures and I've seen complete sets of Munsters and Brady Bunch, carded and loose. No singles though.

Just checked eBay again. CTVT only has one set of Brady Bunch figures (the girls) and only the Herman Munster exclusive on eBay. Many other sellers have the others. No Peter Brady though.

Ok after seeing all these Peter Brady posts, I have to ask what's so great about Peter Brady?

The Mad Monsters, both series. I always liked monster toys, but wouldn't have ever gotten the Mego ones, but when I saw these at my local vintage toy shop, I just couldn't resist.

Peter Brady got used as a custom base for Captain Marvel Jr. by several customizers, and set a precedent to use him for that character. Probably explains the running out of him.
Space: 1999 for me. I think the likenesses are quite good. I just wish Koenig and Russell could have been included.

I'm gonna have to go with the dreaded Yarn Ghost. It's such a goofy figure it's hard for me not to love it ;)

I like the Space 1999 line, especially the Alan Carter and Paul Morrow in the orange space suits, they look just like the siuts from the show with lots of accessories from the helmets and back packs to the wrist communicators. Great likeness in the sculpts of the actors too.

I just wish at least one CTVT's figure I bought wasn't busted MOC, then i'd consider saying good things about them.

I really thought the Munsters and Mad Monsters 2 had the Mego-vibe to them. I give them props for expanding Happy Days and Space:1999.

I was surprised by how detailed the suits are on the Space 1999 line. I also like the Knights and Robin Hood series' repros.
