My 2nd custom Mego for 2008 is this composite version of Red Tornado. "Reddy's" been around in the DC Universe for quite awhile now and everytime he turns up he seems to have a different costume change. I took all the elements I liked from each version from classic to modern and kind of placed them altogether. This is what I came up with. Enjoy! (My apologies to Starbuk for starting without his awesome sculpted head - sorry I couldn't wait!)
I'm also providing a link to a great gallery of pics of Reddy! You can probably see in these pictures where I got some of my inspiration.

If I were to make a top five list of the most visually appealing costumes in the superhero genre, Red Tornado is somewhere in there. I'm partial to the blue/red cape, but the blue/yellow turned out great. You indeed successfully created an amalgam of the various stages of his design. It's a look at a character done through your eyes in a classic Mego style. Very well done.
BTW, from your gallery link, the Mike Turner piece is just stunning. When I think of Red Tornado, that's the image I get. That's the best rendition of the character I've ever seen. I'd like to know from what book that came.
Overall good job and good choice of figure.

Oh that's not my gallery. It was just a page I googled to get pictures of Red Tornado to make him. So I have no idea where those comic pages are from.

I don't know the exact number, but the Turner shot's from the current JLA book.

Very Mego-ey! Is that Starbuk's head? I mean Starbuk's Red Tornado cast...not Buk's actual head. that would be totally out of scale

Nope, I made this one by sanding off all the hair and shaping it. I'm not sure who it was originally but it was from a custom Hawkman I had gotten off Ebay. I recently posted in another thread about mice destroying a Hawkman mask, this was the salvaged head from that incident. I think the head was originally either "Punisher" or "Flash Gordon".

Great figure, man! It's so cool to see figures that come together like this one and look so Mego fresh.
