Clap For the Wolfman was by The Guess Who.

I have a Soft Spot for The Blob, (http://www.brownielocks.com/blob.html) by Burt Bacharach and Hal David, and performed by The Five Blobs.

(Actually, the 5 Blobs was Bernie Nee -- his voice overdubbed 5 times.)

The Misfits cover a lot of movie monsters in their tracks and are well worth a look:
http://www.misfits.com/
Also Iron Maiden have done a few tracks involving tv and movies including The Prisoner, Children of the Damned, Quest for Fire, Murders in the Rue Morgue, Phantom of the Opera and the Wicker man.
there are loads of others but just thought i'd share 2 bands I love listening to.

Dragula by Rob Zombie?

>Dragula by Rob Zombie?

Sure, why not? Like most of Rob Zombie's stuff it's a little "stream of consciusness" but it could easily refrence a vampire racing in his motorized coffin. ("Dragula" being Gran'pa Munster's race car.) Matter of fact; a LOT of Rob's music refrences old b-movies.

But if you want some more tangible monster songs here are some of my faves:

-Judas Priest: Nightcrawler
Love Bites
LochNess
The Ripper
Invader
Metal Gods

Jethro Tull: Kelpie
A Passion Play edit 8

Iron Maiden: The Apparition
Fear of the Dark
The Number of the Beast

Blue Oyster Cult: I Love the Night
Godzilla
E.T.I. (ExtraTerrestrial Intelligence)
The Old Gods Return
Harvest Moon
Take Me Away
Nosferatu

The Gutter Demons: Day of the Dead

You can't have a monster song discussion without the Misfits, but personally I much prefer Danzig era Misfits. That stuff was brilliant. :)

"Horror Business"
"Astro Zombies"
"Teenagers from Mars"
"Vampira"
"I Turned into a Martian"
"Ghouls Night Out"
"Return of the Fly"
"Horror Hotel"
"Halloween" plus "Halloween II" (and Danzig's Samhain did part III)

Plus a bunch more that I'm forgetting.

Lyrically he went in a different direction, but I think the song was at least originally inspired by the Munsters' car. Especially if you watch the music video for the song. :)

Matter of fact; a LOT of Rob's music refrences old b-movies.

Very true, and so do his films. And he's supposed to have an amazing collection of horror memorbilia.

If you like rock and roll (in the rawest sense) and zombies (and who doesn't) you MUST check out the Guitar Wolf movie "Wild Zero"... It's Japanese and that only makes the combo BETTER!

Can't believe Roky Erickson hasn't been mentioned yet. The entire Stu Cook sessions have titles that sound like 50's horror flicks:

Two Headed Dog
I Think Of Demons
Creature With The Atom Brain
Don't Shake Me Lucifer
Bloody Hammer
Stand For The Fire Demon
If You Have Ghosts
I Walked With A Zombie
Night Of The Vampire
