So;

I was kinda thinking of submitting for the 1978 Re-Imagined project, but I'm not sure I could get my idea done in time. So here's the first figure of the "World's Greatest Martial Artists" series: Count Dante.

Count Dante - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Count_Dante)

Anyone who read comics in the 70's knows this guy:

...and the completed figure:

Don't mess with a pro:

Three more to go. Number two should be done next week.

Count Dante! FREAKIN AWESOME!

Who's next? Charles Atlas? the 98 lb weakling? The dude that's going to get his GED or score a sweet job in radio?

I've always loved how the picture is cropped to give the Count an afro. I laugh everytime I see it.

Yeah. The few pics I could find of him show a really REALLY big man-perm; so it's close to an afro. I carved it as sort of a mix. (And on one website the owner had that comic ad blown up to poster size.)

The head is based on a cast of Conan's head, with a new nose, fuller cheeks, beard and that huge hair. (The next guy has huge hair too.) For anyone out there making customs; especially of 70's superheroes.... make molds of Conan and Thor's heads. It'll save you a LOT of work, especially if you're doing Marvel characters.
