    1967 Aurora Penguin model kit

Finally scored my grail Aurora kit. I'll be opening this sucker and giving him the deluxe build and paint treatment. If the decals are too yellow from age I may have to scan them and make new color corrected versions.

Congratulations! It's also great that you're going to build it. Have fun!

I should video myself tearing that 49 year old cellophane off just to make some nerds faint.

You don't want to be judged for opening a vintage toy, yet you have no reservations about throwing out the term "nerd"

What is a "Nerd" in your humble opinion??

            I won't faint, but I'll cringe a little.

Geez, are we overly sensitive or what? It was a joke. Lighten up. We're all grown men who play with toys here.

That's my not so humble opinion.

Wonder if it would be worth having it 3-D printed while still on the tree's

Might make back enough scratch on copies to get yourself free and clear in the end

I don't recast models or make copies. That's a serious no-no in the modeling world and will get you banned from every hobby forum in existence.

You got to let that Penguin fly!
                      No wait, they actually don't...

Anyway, built that kit. It's been waiting so long. Fulfil its destiny!

Can't wait to see it done justice. It's been waiting all this time.

                          Just wondering

Why would anybody care about duping a long out of production model that was put out by a major company ?

Or is it the high end collectors trying to keep the value up on their collections so they frown on duping?

                          Just honestly wondering

Very much looking forward to seeing how the model turns out.

I don't really know Mike...a lot of it comes from garage kit producers which is funny since most of them are unlicensed kits. All I know is it's a very touchy topic among modelers and I actively avoid it.
