    Amsco Marvel World

The Amsco Marvel World Playset is one of the most wonderful pieces of Superhero merch from the 1970s.

An expensive collectible now, I think the major reason for it's appeal is it was comic accurate in an era when it has no business being so.

    Seriously, Doctor Strange's
    Sanctum Sanctorum?

Okay, I remember having something just like this, only it was a carrying case that opened into a scenery
I had Superman, which included Clark, Lois, Jimmy, Perry, Luthor, and a couple others.

They also had Batman, Spiderman, Dick Tracy, Green Hornet and maybe another, this would have been
around the 1973-74 era, I can't remember the name of these playsets but I know they existed.

If anyone has any info, I would love to know. Thanks.

You had these. Made by ideal in 1973.

As far as I know Green Hornet wasn't one of them but ideal had the license during the 66-67 TV run.

I had the Batman, Superman, and Spider-Man Ideal sets. I never knew they made Dick Tracy.

Probably the most Marvel characters in one place outside a comic book at the time.

The good ole days. I always considered these to be the next upgrade from Colorforms.

One of the many great toys of my childhood, and still an incredible and sturdy design. I always found it odd that Falcon doesn't have his civilian identity on the opposite side and that the Torch didn't have flame-off on his.

Bingo!!! that was it, would love to find these somewhere, I think it would have been cool if they also made
Star Trek and Planet of the Apes, ideal though probably didn't have the license for them.

Thanks Mr. Marion for sharing this, brings back some great memories.

Murphy Anderson did all the art on the Superman and Batman Ideal playsets, so they are like a 2nd cousin to Captain Action to me. My lovely wife got me both of them for Christmas a while back. I'm missing a few Superman pieces like Lois and Perry, though.

I met a fellow at MegoMeet, wish I could remember his name but all my stuff is foggy from there.

He had the entire thing scanned at like 1200 dpi, he showed me, it was amazing.
