    Kentuck Fried Chicken Playset

I think this Kentucky Fried Chicken play set is one of the more charming toy concepts I've seen in a while.

I'd also like to say I want that little Col. Sanders more than air currently.

I guess this was even TV advertised, I certainly don't remember the commercials. For more Fashion Mockery and 70's toy love visit us at Plaid Stallions.com

Did that get released? I remember loads of McDonalds toys but I am totally blanking on this.
You are a bold and courageous person, afraid of nothing. High on a hill top near your home, there stands a dilapidated old mansion. Some say the place is haunted, but you don't believe in such myths. One dark and stormy night, a light appears in the topmost window in the tower of the old house. You decide to investigate... and you never return...

I'm surprised those weren't issued in maternity wards around here!

I had a friend who had this. Thanks for the trip down memory lane.

That Boy holds finger puppet picture is slightly disturbing.

I had both this and the McDonald's playset when I was a kid. (No idea who got them for me. They do not seem like something my parents would have bought me.)

The KFC set was actually made pretty cheaply. The big bucket of chicken on top of the sign broke off after about 5 minutes and one of the doors broke off shortly thereafter. The restaurant itself was really thin plastic that cracked easily, especially the floor.

Each of the finger puppets had a little slot on its front to hold a tray/chicken bucket. Unless I am mistaken, the Colonel was the only "employee" character that was included. The rest were all customers. The set looked really cool, but was actually pretty lame in terms of fun factor. It didn't really have any features other than the slot where the chicken bucket trays came out.

The McDonald's set (by Playskool) was way cooler, much sturdier and had more play features. You could have run over that thing with a truck and it would probably have remained unscathed. It had a cash register that rang, a really cool tray return thing, a patio with parking spaces, and a merry-go-round. The restaurant itself was very nicely detailed in both molding and decoration/decals. Even had things like trash cans and restrooms built into it. It was definitely a few levels above the KFC set.

You know, there's a modern day KFC LEGO knockoff, sold in stores in Hong Kong. They're pretty cheap- less than 5 dollars a set.

Also available on ebay, if you search for "HSANHE KFC" or "HSANHE 6403". This set is current and is constantly coming up on ebay. And, they're cheap enough so you can buy two of them to make the store larger and not so cramped.

Thank you so much for this info. They made a few cool store fronts like this (starbucks, Apple, etc)\ and they sell rather cheaply

and for you HO Scale modelers this was made:
