favorite places for custom gear in your area?

    Hey Customizers:

What are your favorite places to look in your area for customizing stuff?

    Here are mine:

    1) Hobby Lobby - General stuff, including dollhouse accessories, paint, Alumilite, etc.

    2) Michaels - Same basic stuff, but open on Sunday

    3) Wal-Mart - Modern toys, some sewing & craft items, various office supplies when nec.

    4) Lowe's - I find the coolest stuff in lawn & garden, and I sometimes pick up lighting stuff there.

    5) Memory Market - a dusty junky thrift store in OKC that specializes in old toys. I have even found Megos/Mego parts in the wild there.

    6) Hancock Fabric - Sewing stuff.

    7) Dollar Tree/Dollar General/Family Dollar - occasional odd cool stuff.

    8) Toys R Us - The place I least often find anything useful, believe it or not.

    9) Radio shack - You'd be surprised!

    10) Petsmart - Occasional neat stuff in the aquarium dept.

Have been in all of those (except Memory Market) and found neat things for customs. I also peruse local flea markets for useful things (like old shirts/pants for material - leather handbags/purses for custom fodder), as well as my kids toybox!

Yes, I recently used the 40% coupon on a $70 Alumilite molding/casting set... when HL has a sale, they have a sale! I truly appreciate that place.
