    Remember the Wonder Bread...

    Hi guys,

Remember the joy of going grocery shopping w/ Mom and turning into the bread aisle and seeing this?

And not just Star Wars...cartoon cards, DC comic cards, Close Encounters, Battlestar Galactica, Disney stickers, Wacky Packages.....ahhh memories.

What Wonder Bread cards/stickers did you collect?

I didn't get much Wonder Bread as a kid, I was more about the ball cards on the back of Twinkies. I got the odd WB card here or there trading in the 'hood though. I think I had a few SW and Close Encounters.

I think I got some Star Wars cards or stickers from Cheerios. I remember seeing a "send away for the figures" ad on the back. Did i dream this?

My mom bought Butternut, but they had Peanuts stickers in every loaf for years.

They had football cards for a couple of seasons, too. A buddy of mine's mom worked at a hospital cafeteria and used to get the cards for us. i must have a couple of hundred of them still. And they're worth a couple of hundred cents, too.

Selling an unopened bag of wonderbread from 1977 for $87.00 on eBay? only in America.
I (wonder) if the bread can now break a window?

My mom also bought wheat bread. (Golden Circles) But we got Wonder b/c it was the best for peanut butter and jelly (and that was just about all it was good for! ). And some good hard begging on my part didn't hurt either!

Auctions like that make me think that I should never throw anything in the trash again.

I remember seeing the TV ads for the Star Wars cards as a kid, but no stores near us in southern Ontario ever seemed to stock Wonder Bread.
