    Zira's outfit from Escape

The blouse, skirt and vest are done, and I just wanted to share some very cool photos I took yesterday:

The buttons are glass seed beads.

The chair was sculpted by Mark P.

Here is the swing jacket, after sewing a new facing. It is a marked improvement from the first time I sewed the lining down:

I'm just posting this photo because I love the composition. I will try to retake this same pose this weekend and try to capture Zira looking directly at the camera...
She has a strong stance, almost like a flamenco dancer:

    That's a really awesome outfit.

Did you make it yourself? If so, great job.

Extraordinary detail Jessica. I think this one is much, much better than the first (but I loved the first anyway).

Do you find it easier to work with 12" figures? It appears that you have more room to dive into the details.

Chalk up another masterpiece on for your collection.

      Great Job!!

The outfit is not for me to keep. I am still working out the details on the swing jacket lining, but I will get it done. I am trying to make this outfit as perfect as possible and take some stellar shots. The plan is, one of my Sideshow buddies will submit the photos to Sideshow representatives at the San Diego Comic Con this July. Hopefully it will show them that there is still genuine interest from some hard core apes fans and they will revive the line--or better yet, have more sculpts available for future production. It is a Hail Mary pass for sure, but one can still hope.

I have redone the lining of the swing jacket and this had made such a difference!! Glad I did that...

After sewing down the new facing, the top stitching of the lining didn't look so very odd.

Dave or other moderators, feel free to delete my other post. At the last moment I decided to just add to this one that I started. I couldn't figure out how to delete the other post. Sorry!!

                              Update....!!

My friend attended the San Diego Comic Con and submitted the photographs to Matt Falls, one of the artists responsible for the apes line of Sideshow. He was very impressed with the detail that went into the costume, and he will see if they could somehow post the photographs onto the Sideshow Toy website instead of just the forums. Wouldn't that be cool?

There is something in the works, ape-related, but it is in the very early stages. Who knows if it will come to fruition? I was not privy to details...but I am so happy nonetheless.
