I have never really looked for the 1/18 scale version. Now that you mention though I will be keeping an eye out for one.

I would try Cultvman and Monstersinmotion.com to pre-order the large 1966 Batmobile. they will post updates on their websites when it is coming out or delayed. I order from Culttvman frequently and he is a stand-up guy.
I have a limited supply (two cases and I am keeping a few of the first for myself) coming from Diamond. The latest email I have from them says it now overdue (was supposed to ship 3/26) so I am just waiting on my invoice from them saying it is on a UPS truck.
If you are interested... $39.99, Free shipping included as always (and it won't be light)

I can bet CAH wont but I can dream about my PH's but my line was a reponse to the CAPTAIN and if PH can't fit nothing will they have the slimest hips around

I wonder if the recent Takara Microman Batman figures will fit in it? They are very thin and spindly.

Hot Wheels 1/18th scale 1966 Batmobile - Another Pop Culture Collectible Review by Michael Crawford, Captain Toy (http://www.mwctoys.com/REVIEW_031008a.htm)
According to Michaels review of the car the figure needs to be about 4" tall. He has a pic of a Clone Trooper next to it in the review.
I too am on the lookout for it.

Latest news from Diamond... Looks like late April at best.
A quote from an internal email that my customer service rep shared with me...
These are going to be trickling in. The bulk of our shipment will be shipping to us around the last week of April.

I saw 3 at the TRU in Sarasota today during my Indy hunt. Picked up 2 of them (one for me, one for my bro in law's birthday). Figured I'd leave one on the shelf should a child actually want one. I think they were around $40 or so. (My husband paid while I was in the bathroom. I never check prices when I pick stuff up, I'm bad.)
