The key word in playsets is PLAY! Are you gonna play w/ your FTC playsets?

I see we're all excited about these proposed playsets. But to me, a playset isn't worth very much if it just sits inside the box on display. Are you gonna pull them out and relive your childhood? Or maybe give them to your kids? Maybe act out more Mego style commercials?

So what are your plans for an FTC playset?

If I'm lucky enough to get that Batcave, it'll go on "full display". With vehicles and figures.
It should fulfil its potential, as a toy, with action figures. At least let it breathe and live a little!

Yeah. There's no sense in buying an FTC box that stays sealed.

My entire collection is played with by me and my kids. The play sets will be no different.

If I get any playsets and vehicles, it will force me to redo my current display setup. I do not plan to play with them, but I do not plan to leave them in the box either.

I plan to open them and put them on display somewhere, somehow.

That's why I don't have the DST Star Trek Enterprise Bridge Playset. I like it and would not mind owning it, but not enough to reorganize to put it on display.

To me as an adult collector, the playset is a backdrop for the figures, which is why I like a playset that creates an environment that the figures are immersed in. This is the perfect display, and play for me is setting them up and photographing them, which is why I would want the Batcave and Gamma VI playsets. Both would work real well with the smaller figures, especially with Funko releasing classic Trek figures now.

Space, the final frontier. These are the dilemmas of a playset collector......

For the Batcave, I'd set it up and mess around, display mostly.

I probably won't bother with the Aquaman/Shark set.....but it's too early to call yet.

I would be getting these just for the kids to play with.

I have Batcave and hall of justice they play with now - so if they did any others I would grab them for the kids.

I'm still thinking on what would be in a Fortress of Solitude Playset if they were to make one. The gold door and key would to tops!

The classic image of his parents holding a model of Krypton. Maybe a display of Kryptonite. The bottle city of Kandor. Maybe even a depiction of his rocket. These could all be depicted on the inside walls.

A crystal command console would be cool!

Yep. I'll flash the batsignal, I'll push the Batmobile through the secret entrance, I may even slide Bats or Robin down the batpole. Yes, it'll be the backdrop for the display once I get it, but it's definitely getting messed around with before it goes up there.

In childhood they are play sets. When you grow into collector-hood, they become display sets. (; That doesn't mean they can't be opened. For me anyway.
