    ToyFair: NECA ReMego gallery

NECA has in two years transformed from a company who used the ReMego format as a novelty to one of the most exciting companies working in the format. * We’ve just added a NECA forum at the Mego Museum, check it out here: http://megomuseum.com/community/foru...ay.php?72-NECA * *

In what scale are the smaller Apes shown right before Christopher Reeve?

The Reeve appears to be 1/4 scale.

I'm really curious about those smaller apes. Maybe they are 6"? They look much too detailed to be 3 3/4"

NECA is kicking butts with some serious head sculpting but dropping the ball with clothing... First, Taylor's cheap astronaut suit and now I can't believe they didn't give the Gorilla Ape a bandolier!!!

            Great photos!
Those Interstellar suits look nicely detailed.

And the mystery of the missing bandolier continues...

Is that Urko a 1/4 scale figure? Oh man. That would be hard to resist!

^^ No, it's the master sculpt that will be used for the digital model to scale down to the Classic series. That's why they are so detailed in scale.

I noticed that the purple for the soldier ape is pretty "disco sparkly", as opposed to the more subdued prototype material.
And the head can use some more paint application.
                  But it's still a prototype, I guess.

Wouldn't it be cool if they do a Virdon and Burke?

Thanks for that information. That answers my question about the scale of the smaller figures pictured. If they will be part of the "Classic" series, then they will be 7" scale, right?

Not a big horror fan, but I really like Freddy. And those astronauts are really rich figures, I wish Taylor had been done more like them.

I'm totally redoing my Taylor suit with a whole new fabric.
The more I look at the Neca one, the more I get the feeling that-along the production line- nobody made clear that the design was a rough prototype, not a definitive design. The black stitching says to me "this is where we want stitching patterns, so we'll highlight them in black for clarity now, but they're supposed to be white on white" in the end."

Because the boots aren't removable, I'm sewing the pants straight onto the figure. They need to be tight around the lower leg, and won't slide over the boots.

Well that is just all kinds of action figure goodness there! Not sure about that shiny, satiny purple leisure suit the Mego scale gorilla is wearing but I've already got 3 on order. Neca makes some really odd choices with some of their fabrics.

That's a great looking Freddy. Not real crazy about the shiny fabric on the Soldier Ape either or the painted on mud or the lack of a bandolier but that wont stop me from getting one.
