    Gentle Giant 12" Super Powers

In 1984, Kenner began to release the next on their extremely popular action figure lines, the DC Super Powers Collection! This line included heroes such as Batman, Superman, Wonder Woman and many, many more.
Gentle Giant is proud to announce the launch of this stunning line of retro figures that have been given the Jumbo Figure treatment. Each figure is developed using state of the art 3D technology. Gentle Giant has taken the original DC Super Powers figures and created a highly accurate digital model with the use of 3D scanners. These digital models are then scaled to 12 inches tall, and then printed using top of the line 3D Systems printers. These pieces are then used in manufacturing to produce extremely accurate, scaled replicas.
The DC Super Powers Collection Jumbo Figures from Gentle Giant will be made from high quality vinyl, and some ABS plastic parts. Many of the figures will also include fabric capes and accessories. Finally, these incredible figures will feature retro art packaging, and come in a protective re-sealable blister pack.

They did something incredibly wrong here...look at Wonder Woman.
They used a vintage figure with a slightly yellowing discolored torso and thighs, and then copied that on the 12" version.

^Maybe they're doing that FTC thing of using a pic of the vintage item as the prototype?

I like the idea of these--I wonder which will be made.
WANTED: Dick Grayson SI trousers; gray AJ Mustang horse; vintage RC Batman (Bruce Wayne) head; minty Wolfman tights; mint Black Knight sword; minty Launcelot boots; Lion Rock (pale) Dracula & Mummy heads; Lion Rock Franky squared boots; Wayne Foundation blue furniture; Flash Gordon/Ming (10") unbroken holsters; CHiPs gloved arms; POTA T2 tan body; CTVT/vintage Friar Tuck robes, BBP TZ Burgess Meredith glasses.

I doubt those are productions figures and more like what PNG said. Most of their jumbo figures actually have a matte finish, not glossy like the originals.

Wait, isn't there already a thread for these?

Yeah, I think they used actual vintage Star Wars 3 3/4" figures for their solicitation ads.

Didn't the final production Matty DCU classic Super Powers Riddler have discoloured arms like all the original Super Amigos?

They are also doing Batman the Animated Series, too.

at this price point, surely they could do Super Powers action features with these figures?! that was the whole point and joy of the Super Powers line for me. Squeeze the legs or whatever. Lots of fun play value.

I didn't get the Star Wars versions, but these are tempting, at the least.

it's the possibility of characters like Plastic Man, Cyborg and Mister Miracle that get me most excited for this line, rather than the umpteenth Superman or Batman, or even Flash or Green Lantern.

No power action, and I hope they fix Superman's chest and cape symbols in production. The symbols on the prototypes look more like the Toy Biz figures:

no brainers they should do if they plan to go beyond what was done by Kenner, Apache Chief and Giganta

Man these are neat (even w/out Super Powers I guess). Even if they hold to a $100 price point, with the exchange rate, I'm still probably better off spending on vintage carded figures.

They would have me instantly if something happened by squeezing their legs though (besides breaking).
