    Odd Star Wars toy omission

I was shocked to find they never made a vintage Star Wars Colorforms set. I wonder why?

I guess probably because Kenner had the Master Toy License. Same reason we never got Star Wars View Masters (although that did change a year or two ago).

We did get ROTJ Presto Magix, but it isn't really the same.

^If I remember correctly, they also did ESB Presto Magix. I remember seeing one set with the Falcon in the asteroid field.

I'd have loved Star Wars Colorforms and View-Masters as a kid.
I did have a lot of Empire and Jedi Presto Magix, plus some of the UK equivalent SW rub down transfer sets, which I believe were made by Letraset.

That's a good question. I think I would place that right along side the age old question why retro Megos have yet to make them.

Exactly, Kenner had the master license and were wisely very protective of it.

Unlike Hasbro, which really took a beating in sales, when Lego got the rights to do SW sets.
You are a bold and courageous person, afraid of nothing. High on a hill top near your home, there stands a dilapidated old mansion. Some say the place is haunted, but you don't believe in such myths. One dark and stormy night, a light appears in the topmost window in the tower of the old house. You decide to investigate... and you never return...

^ I think Hasbro also took a beating when they gave up on 12" figures.
