Yeah I was going to put it would be hard for them to do it because of it being Marvel but man it would be sweet to see these done. So far everyone that has seen the movie that I know has loved it and I know kids would go crazy for these as well as collectors. I have seen the toys they have out for Gaurdians and they don't even come close to hitting the mark. They need to be done with the Mego style.

However Lego has playsets from the movie.

I thought I heard FTC was going to be doing Harry Potter figures so I don't see what the 70s connection would have to do with them making the Gaurdians. The only thing that I can see standing in the way would be the Marvel license.

Star Lord was created in 1976 and Groot appeared in comics in 1960.

And mego made Our Gang and Wizard of Oz from the 30's. But none of the visual style of Guardians translate to cloth retro figures. Drax, Groot, and Rocket would require special tooling.

I think the Marvel Legends Guardians are some of the best ones Hasbro has ever done. And I have to agree that FTC versions will never happen for two reasons. The first being they're Marvel, and secondly as was pointed out, Groot and Rocket would be nearly impossible to pull off in the Mego style. Even the upcoming FTC Gleek is not done in true Mego style.
